 When it comes to email messaging, Gmail is one of the biggest players in the market. Currently, Gmail boasts of 1.5 billion users and has grown to become one of the most widely used email clients worldwide. As of November 2018, Litmus Email Analytics rates Gmail as the 2nd most used email client (based on 946 million opens). At 27% market domination, it’s only narrowly beaten by Apple iPhone mail, which boasts of 28% market domination.

The only major disadvantage that you’ll face using Gmail on your Mac is that it’s almost entirely done online and in your browser. This means that you can’t work on your mails except via your browser.
